Over 42 protestors have been arrested by the Ghana police service in connection with the ongoing #StopGalamseyNow protest by civil society group Democracy Hub, for various offenses of unlawful assembly and destruction of public peace.
An inconclusive convergence location by the Ghana police service and protestors led to a chaotic scene and the arrest of 62-year woman and a minor yesterday Sunday 22 September.
Despite the arrest, the demonstrators remain resolute to continue the protest today, charging the government to declare a state of emergency and a ban on illegal mining. Christopher Atitso has more.
