In Senegal, voters turned out on Sunday for a legislative election that passed off peacefully without any reported case of violence.
While the country awaits the election result, supporters of the main opposition political coalition Yewwi Askan Wii YAW led by Ousmane Sonko took to the streets late Sunday to celebrate their victory.
But on Monday, President Macky Sall's ruling coalition said on that it has won thirty of the country's forty-six administrative departments.
This announcement was made by the presidential coalition BBY at its headquarters in Dakar.
