Road safety officials in Senegal say 111 people have died in 1,356 traffic accidents recorded between January and August 2021 in the central region of Koalack.

Captain Sada Dia, commander of the Kaolack firefighters brigade says over two thousand seven hundred others were wounded in those accidents.

He says the death increased by eight compared to 2020, a year during which 103 deaths were counted among the 3,507 victims of traffic accidents recorded in this region of the center of the country.
