In Benin, the price of baguettes has risen in some towns. Four out of the twelve departments in Benin now buy bread at 150 CFA francs for 200g bread. Since the beginning of the week consumers have been complaining about the 25f Cfa extra that they have to pay per baguette.
But for the bakers there is no going back because wheat flour is now very expensive. They are therefore calling for the government to intervene.
