Côte d’Ivoire’s PDCI has announced a nationwide protest on June 11 in response to the exclusion of its presidential candidate, Tidjane Thiam, from the 2025 electoral roll.
The march, which begins in Abidjan, aims to denounce the electoral commission’s decision as “unfair and abusive.”
Party officials say talks with police are ongoing to ensure a peaceful demonstration.
The PDCI has also petitioned the UN Human Rights Committee over the matter.
