As the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland enters day three, OXFAM is calling on governments and developing economies to enforce taxation policies in generating more revenues.
The call follows the release of a report Monday tagged The Survival of the Richest that shows 1 percent of the world’s total population accumulating two-thirds of the wealth.
The group of charitable organizations also expressed concern over the trend amid the global financial crisis, food insecurity and global warming.
In recommending policies to bridge the gap, OXFAM comments on the dimensions of the current wealth accumulation.
