the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) are currently embroiled in a heated exchange of inflammatory rhetoric.
Comments from leading members of the NPP, with the Agric Minister Bryan Acheampong being the most recent, suggest that the party will resort to every means possible to win the December 7 elections.
The opposition NDC on the other hand says it is determined to counter the ruling party’s attempts to cling to power.
These pronouncements are not only increasing tensions ahead of the general elections but also pose a serious threat to Ghana’s cherished democratic stability.
