A new governor has been appointed to head the Central Bank of West African States.
Norbert Toé, a Burkinabè, was until his appointment, Vice governor of the regional financial institution.
Toé officially replaces Tiemoko Meyliet Koné, who was recently appointed as vice-president of Côte d'Ivoire.
According to the Burkinabe news agency, AIB, Norbert Toé had been approached in January 2016 to lead the first government of former president Roch Marc Christian Kaboré but declined.
