Ghana’s Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta says government is yet to reach an agreement with the Minority concerning the controversial e-levy tax, set to be implemented in the 2022 budget.
This comes after government proposed a 1.75% levy on Mobile Money and other electronic transactions, in hopes of increasing their revenue and widening the country’s tax base.
However, the minority rejected the levy, proposing that it should be reduced to 1%.
According to Ken Ofori-Atta, government is doing everything it can to achieve a consensus between the majority, minority and other stakeholders
