At least nine people were kidnapped following an attack by unknown gunmen in Nigeria’s northwest Zamfara state.
This was revealed by residents of the Tsohuwar Kasuwa community in Kaura Namoda local government area,
According to them, their village was raided early Friday morning by these gunmen who rode on motorcycles.
These frequent clashes also continually break out between herders and farmers.
As a reminder on Wednesday, the police reported the kidnapping of five female university students in the neighbouring Katsina State.
Due to high level of unemployment, poverty, and the proliferation of illegal arms, kidnappings for ransom has risen in Northwest Nigeria.
