The M62 movement in Niger has resumed agitations to demand the departure of foreign forces from the country.

This movement, which includes some twenty civil society organizations, has been demonstrating against the presence of foreign forces for several months despite the ban on these demonstrations by the authorities.

Over the weekend, the movement also demanded the release of its coordinator Abdoulaye Seydou, who was arrested nearly a month ago for arson at a gold mining site following an army air strike.
