The Federal Government of Nigeria said it has taken delivery of over 650,000 prepaid meters as part of the National Mass Metering Program (NMMP).

The government has under phase Zero of the Central Bank of Nigeria CBN funded meter rollout programme, pledged to provide one million meters to Nigerians whose bills are still based on estimation.

The estimated billing has in recent times sparked public uproar with a swift shift to online campaign to address the situation, which described a s exploitative.
