Pensioners, represented by the Nigeria Union of Pensioners NUP, are making an appeal to the federal government.

They are urging the government to include them in the planned distribution of palliatives to help ease the economic challenges resulting from the removal of fuel subsidies.

The pensioners are requesting consideration for the proposed six months tax-free payment for public servants, as well as the settlement of all outstanding liabilities owed to public and civil servants.
