In Nigeria, members of the green chamber of the National Assembly have set up two ad-hoc committees to probe the actual consumption of petrol and production capacity of the nation’s refineries.
Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila disclosed this during Wednesday’s plenary following the planned removal of fuel subsidy by the federal government.
Gbajabiamila said the move is to ascertain the implications of the suspension on Nigeria’s economy and the cost of getting the refineries to function optimally.
