In Nigeria, the Government and leadership of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU resumed negotiations on Tuesday, in a bid to reach an agreement to end the ongoing strike by the academic union.
Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr. Chris Ngige, met with the striking union and relevant government agencies for second time since they declared a one-month warning strike three weeks ago.
Dr. Chris said the meeting would end with action as demanded by the union as they continue to press for improved welfare, revitalization of public universities and university autonomy among other demands.
