The Nigeria government on Tuesday registered two new academic unions, in a latest move to weaken the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU following its seven-month-old strike.
Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, presented both unions with certificates of registration at the ministry headquarters in the nation's capital, Abuja.
The new unions are the Nigerian Association of Medical and Dental Academics, NAMDA, and the Congress of Nigerian University Academics CONUA.
