The Nigerian Federal Government has denied reintroducing the subsidy on petrol, stating that the closure of many filling stations is due to distribution challenges rather than a lack of supply.
The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) added that it would have gone bankrupt in June this year had it not stopped the subsidy on petrol in May.
This is coming at a time when fuel queues are resurfacing in parts of the country.
