The World Bank has approved additional funding for the second phase of Nigeria’s COVID-19 recovery programme, now renamed NG-CARES 2.0.

The initiative aims to support farmers and vulnerable communities struggling with post-pandemic economic challenges. The government expects the programme to boost food security and strengthen local businesses.

NG-CARES 2.0 is set to commence in June, with targeted interventions to enhance economic resilience and community development.
