Nigeria’s northeast Bono State governor says he will close down all camps for internally displaced persons near Maiduguri by the end of this year.
Governor Babagana Zulum said the security situation in the state has improved therefore there is a need for the displaced persons to return to their towns and villages.
According to the governor, arrangements have also been concluded for the safe return of persons displaced into neighboring Niger and Cameroon Republics, in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs.
Executive Director of the Emergency Management Agency of Borno State, Hajiya Yabawa kolo has been speaking to WADR about the planned exercise.
