Nigeria will end its visa-on-arrival policy, citing security risks and the need for stricter controls.
Interior Minister Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo announced the decision at a graduation ceremony for immigration officers trained in passenger data security.
Under the new system, travelers must obtain clearance before arrival, with background checks through Interpol and criminal record databases.
Officials also plan to tighten security at land borders to prevent unauthorized entries bypassing airport controls.
