Nigeria's Government has signed a multi-sectoral Memorandum of Understanding to commence full operation of the National Emergency Medical Service and Ambulance System (NEMSAS).
Minister for Health, Dr Osagie Ehanire disclosed that NEMSAS will address serious deficits in the Nigeria health systems with the provision of physical and financial access to First Aid and healthcare, in case of life-threatening emergencies.
As Usman Umar Reports, NEMSAS is designated in the National Health Act with 5% of the Basic Healthcare Provision Fund for emergency medical treatment.
