The Nigeria Immigration Service, UN Office on Drugs and Crimes and other relevant partners on Tuesday flagged off the 2022 Nationwide Sensitization Programme on Smuggling of Migrants in Nigeria.

The event which also witnessed the Launch of the observatory on smuggling of migrants in Nigeria, a field research conducted during 2019-2022, sought to provide a policy-oriented and actionable analysis of migrants smuggling from, to and through Nigeria.

Stakeholders at the event reinforced their respective mandates to fight the menace of migrant smuggling in Africa's most populous country and across the West African sub-region.
