The Ondo State Government has intervened in the industrial crisis at the Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo in Ondo State.
It was gathered that the government stepped in following the suspension of the activities of the Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Polytechnics (SSANIP) and Non-Academic Staff Union over an alleged plan by the unions to embark on an indefinite strike over unpaid salary.
Correspondent Fatimah Ibrahim reports that a meeting with the Union leaders and its management held at the governor’s office in Akure, the state’s capital concluded with a resolution that part of the backlog of salaries be paid.
