The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has destroyed counterfeit and unregistered products valued at approximately N1.37 billion (around $1.6 million USD).
The operation, held Thursday at Abuja’s Kuje dumpsite, targeted adulterated food, drugs, and cosmetics. NAFDAC Director-General Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye highlighted the initiative as part of efforts to protect Nigeria’s supply chain from harmful products.
This routine exercise underscores NAFDAC’s commitment to safeguarding public health and ensuring the integrity of consumer goods in the country.
