In Nigeria, the House of Representatives has resolved to summon the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mohammed Bello, over what it describes as the deteriorating state of the nation’s capital.

This follows a motion moved by the Deputy Minority Leader of the House, Toby Okechukwu, during the plenary on Tuesday at the lower chamber of the National Assembly in Abuja.

The lawmaker, insisted that the minister was not doing the job for which he was hired, stressed the urgent need to arrest the decaying infrastructure and general insecurity in the FCT.
