In Abuja – Nigeria’s capital, hundreds of retired military officers under the umbrella union – Ex Service Men Association, took to the streets to demonstrate over unpaid allowances owed them.
The Ex – service men in their numbers Wednesday, decried the recurrent challenges faced by retired military personnel over pensions and other entitlements.
According to a representative of the association – Anthony Agbas, most worrying, is the government’s refusal to pay the security allowance also known as disbandment benefits.
Over 97,000 ex-service men in the country are agitated following this development.
