The speaker of Nigeria's Parliament – Femi Gbajabiamila has assured the leadership and members of the National Association of resident doctors NARD of the government’s determination to reconcile all differences.
The speaker was speaking Tuesday when he paid a courtesy visit to NARD’s secretariat in Abuja – Nigeria’s capital.
According to Gbajabiamila, the country is already bedeviled with numerous challenges, and the strike by health workers would cripple the economy especially in the time of a pandemic. The doctors’ union Monday this week suspended its strike for four weeks but warned that it will continue should the government fail to commit to terms of negotiations.
