Members of the senior staff association of Nigeria universities SSANU and the Non-Academic staff Union of universities, insists there’s no going back on the February 5 to commence a nationwide industrial action.

Both unions reached the decision despite holding a reconciliation meeting with the government represented by the minister of labor – Dr Chris Ngige in Abuja.

Although the Minster told press that the issues raised by unions have been addressed, leaders of the association insist that most of their critical demands are yet to be attended to.

Key among their demand is that the member of staff be taken off the government’s central salary payment platform known as the integrated personal payroll information system IPPIS.

Also, two association asked for review of the sharing formular of allowances between the teaching and non-teaching staff of universities in Nigeria.

Peter Adeyemi is spokesperson for the senior staff association of Nigeria universities SSANU.
