More people have been confirmed dead in the building collapse in the Ikoyi area of Lagos State.

According to the spokesman for the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), 16 more bodies have been recovered.

He added that five more persons trapped under the rubble have been rescued by emergency responders at the scene.

This brings the total figures of those killed 20 and 10 rescued.

Meanwhile, a letter indicating that as far back as February, 2020, a construction firm had written to the owners of the building noting their intention to withdraw from the project due to disagreements over structural defects has been made public.
