The government of Nigeria has commenced the construction of facilities to mark the beginning of the distribution of safe drinking water to residents in the communities of Ogoniland affected by oil spillages.
Ogoniland is in Rivers State south Nigeria.
The communities are also being cleaned up following years of pollution.
Anthony Aalo, the Executive Director, Kallop Humanitarian and Environmental Center in Rivers State has been telling WADR more about the ongoing exercise in Oguniland.
