The Nigerien defence ministry in a statement Wednesday said, the country’s army killed around 40 Boko Haram jihadists in an overnight fight on the islands of Lake Chad.
According to the ministry, in the fight that started Tuesday evening and lasted till Wednesday morning; over 100 Boko Haram fighters arrived in four large wooden canoes and an armed speedboat to attack their army.
