Niger confirms 50 victims of terrorist attacks in one week in its western region of Tillabéri.

Residents of the region have described the situation as unacceptable as they demand for radical measures to improve security in the region.

Over the weekend, a platform called the Tillaberi Union Committee for Peace and Social Cohesion held a General Assembly in Niamey – the capital.

The participants announced their willingness to get directly involved in the fight against insecurity in the region.
