Politicians seeking parliamentary seats in Guinea Bissau’s National People’s Assembly have until June 4, 2023, to convince voters of their votes.
The campaign which officially began on Saturday, is expected to usher in a new set of lawmakers after the previous house was dissolved exactly a year ago.
The persistent and irreconcilable differences between the Assembly and the government forced President UmaroSissocoEmbaló to declare an executive directive dissolving the lawmaking body.
Two coalitions and at least twenty-two political parties are in the race for the 102 seats in the National Assembly.
BambaKuteh – a political analyst in Bissau shares his thoughts on the future elections.
