ECOWAS mediation in Mali over fate of detained Ivorian soldiers

The high-level mission of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), which came on Thursday to negotiate the release of 46 Ivorian soldiers detained for undermining state security, left Bamako, without giving any statement to the press after meetings behind closed doors in two stages.

The West African delegation is made up of two Heads of State, Nana Akufo-Addo from Ghana, Adama Barrow from Gambia, Robert Dussey, Togolese Minister for Foreign Affairs and Goodluck Jonathan, ECOWAS mediator for Mali.
