Chad: Workers union calls for strike to reject military rule

Tensions continue to mount in Chad as the workers union has called a strike to reject the military council. The council was formed on Monday hours after President Idriss Deby Itno was announced dead.
The former president was killed on the battlefield with militant forces when commanding troops on the front.
The son of the late President was on Wednesday, named interim president of the central African nation by a transitional military council, in a move described a coup by the opposition and now the workers union.
They are demanding the immediate removal of the military council.
