The World Health Organization WHO says it will soon test three drugs used for other diseases to see if they might help patients sickened by the coronavirus.

The U.N. health agency says the three drugs chosen by an independent panel would be adopted into the next phase of its ongoing global research in identifying potential treatments for COVID-19.

WHO’s director general Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus during a virtual briefing Wednesday, gave update on the joint effort between his agency and the government of Guinea, where the first case of the Marburg virus has been detected in West Africa.
