Musa Barrow scoops accolades in Gambia, Italy

Gambia international Musa Barrow has been voted Bologna’s player of the year 2020 the first African to win the accolade at the club.

The Gambian striker has been a sensation since joining the Italian Seria A side Bologna on loan from parent club Atalanta in January 2020.

The Bologna main man beat fellow team mates Takehiro Tomiyasu and Soriano to the top prize.

Barrow garnered 63% of the votes cast beating Tomiyasu in second place with 25% of votes, Soriano got 8% and Orsolini managed 5% respectively.

Bologna took to twitter to announce the result on Thursday and wrote, “the poll is over, the votes have been counted and verified, and we can now reveal that our Player of the Year for 2020 is Magical Musa.

Since joining Boglogna in January 2020, Musa Barrow has scored 13 goals and made 6 assists in Seria A making him one of the star performers of the season.

Meanwhile back home in the Gambia, the 22 year old Musa went home with another accolade after being voted Gambian Fans Foreign-based Player of the Year 2020.

Musa Barrow rose through the ranks at local club Hawks United in Banjul before joining Atalanta in 2017 as a player.

He has rapidly progressed to become one of the most sought after youngsters in Italian Seria A.
