The Media Rights Agenda (MRA) has filed a suit at the ECOWAS Community Court of Justice in Abuja, citing the Federal Government of Nigeria’s failure to effectively investigate, prosecute and reprimand perpetrators who murdered 11 journalists between 1998 and 2019.
They are asking the court to petition the government to compensate the victims’ families with N10 million.
