Mass school abduction foiled in Nigeria

Security operatives in Nigeria including the military in the early hours of Sunday foiled yet another school children abduction in Kaduna State.

The latest failed abduction in the state came 48hours after the kidnapping of students from Federal College of Forestry Mechanization in Afaka, Igabi local government area by bandits.  

This time, gunmen stormed Government Science Secondary School, Ikara in Kaduna State – few meters away from an air force base.

Kaduna state – commissioner for internal security and home affairs in the state, Samuel Aruwan, said all 307 students of the school are safe.

Here’s Aruwan speaking during a media briefing, where he assured parents, stakeholders and the population of the state government’s determination to protect schools from attacks by bandits and others.
