The United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in Mali, MINSUMA completed its final withdrawal from Kidal in the northern region on Tuesday, under high tension.
The convoy made up of more than a hundred vehicles escorted by Chadian and Guinean peacekeepers, had to overcome difficulties to reach Gao.
In the wake of this early withdrawal, the rebels of the Permanent Strategic Framework claim to have taken control of the base that the UN mission left behind.
In a press release, the Malian authorities denounced the violation of resolution 2690 of the United Nations Security Council by MINUSMA for not handing over to the army.
