University lecturers and researchers in Mali have launched a six-day strike to demand unpaid financial arrears.
Led by the union CEN-SNESUP, the strike aims to push the government to settle 6 billion CFA francs in overtime and exam bonuses.
The union says earlier negotiations failed to yield results, prompting the resumption of protests.
Lecturers warn that continued inaction could lead to extended industrial action across the education sector.
