The United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali, MINUSMA, has announced its support on the health front in localities plagued by terrorists.
MINUSMA says it will deliver 1.5 tons of essential medicines to Gao every week.
According to the UN peacekeeping Mission, the assistance is being undertaken at the request of regional authorities that are working to mitigate the impact of a pharmaceutical shortage due to a blockade of the main supply route by insurgents since May this year.
Stephane Dujjaric is spokesperson for the UN Secretary-General.
