In Mali, the JNIM (Group for the Support of Islam and Muslims) has announced the death of Amadou Hady Tall, the general caliph of the Tijaniyya Muslim brotherhood.
In an audio recording shared on social media, Amadou Kouffa, a prominent leader of the Katiba Macina faction, confirmed Tall’s passing. Reports suggest that the religious leader succumbed to injuries sustained during his transfer for interrogation.
The announcement has sparked significant concern, given the Tijaniyya brotherhood’s influence in West Africa and its historical focus on peace and spiritual guidance.
