Efforts to reintegrate Mali, Burkina Faso, and Niger into Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) are faltering as Mali’s withdrawal from the regional bloc is set for January 29, 2025.
ECOWAS Commission President Dr. Omar Alieu Touray confirmed the decision and announced plans for a technical meeting to formalize the withdrawal process.
This development marks a significant shift in regional dynamics, with discussions focusing on the terms and implications of Mali’s exit from ECOWAS.
