A ministerial convoy in Mali has been ambushed, leaving several dead and others injured.

The attack, allegedly carried out by the Al-Qaeda-linked Group for the Support of Islam and Muslims (GSIM), is the second such assault on a government convoy in a month.

Authorities have yet to release an official casualty count, but the incident underscores the ongoing security crisis in the country.
