In Mali, the Constitutional Court has rejected a request seeking the dismissal of Transitional President General Assimi Goïta, citing lack of jurisdiction.
The request, filed by a citizen identified as Saïdou “Cheickna” Diallo, accused President Goïta of committing “high treason” by allegedly violating his presidential oath. Diallo had called for impeachment proceedings in line with Article 73 of the 2023 Constitution.
However, in its June 18, 2025 ruling—published in the Official Journal this week—the Court declared itself incompetent to adjudicate the matter, effectively ending the legal challenge.
