Head of the transitional government in Mali, Colonel Assimi Goita on Sunday, appointed Colonel Abdoulaye Maiga as an interim prime minister to act in place of leader Choguel Maiga.

Abdoulaye Maiga, who is currently the Malian government spokesman, also doubles as the minister of territorial administration.
