Mali has accused neighboring Algeria of shooting down one of its surveillance drones within Malian airspace.

Authorities in Bamako condemned the incident as “an act of aggression” and demanded explanations from the Algerian government.

The drone was reportedly on a routine mission when it was brought down.

Security Minister Daoud Aly Mohamedine said Mali reserves the right to respond appropriately while seeking diplomatic clarity.
