Ghana’s President John Mahama has announced a major national change.

July 1st, traditionally Republic Day, will now be observed as the National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving.

President Mahama emphasized the need to appreciate Ghana’s enduring peace and religious harmony.

He made the announcement during the inauguration of the event’s planning committee.
