The World’s largest Humanitarian Organization – The World food Programme (WFP) says the number of people in need of Humanitarian assistance in Southern Madagascar has doubled due to famine like conditions.
The UN food agency in a report Tuesday said that successive droughts and a lack of jobs linked to the covid19 pandemic, has worsened the humanitarian crisis.
According to WFP, more than 1.3 million people are currently affected compared to figures in 2020.
Of the 1.3 million people food insecure, 135,000 children are either moderately, severely or acutely malnourished.
